CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) - Diversified global manufacturer Carlisle Cos. said Monday it will close its on-highway braking facility in Fredericksburg, Va., on Sept. 28.
Carlisle will record a pretax charge of $6.4 million in its specialty products segment for restructuring costs and asset impairment related to the closure. All U.S. on-highway braking operations will now be located at the company's South Hill, Va., facility.
Carlisle also said it will record a pretax gain in the third quarter of about $50 million for the sale of Icopal, the company's European roofing joint venture. The sale was announced in July.
